Boston Redevelopment Authority JP/Rox Redevelopment Plan by Boston Redevlopment AuthorityPLAN JP/ROX is an ongoing planning study in which the BRA is actively engaging with the community to create a new vision and plan for the area between Forest Hills, Egleston Square and Jackson Square, generally bounded by Washington Street, Columbus Avenue, and Amory Street. The study area is approximately 250 acres in size with over 6,000 residents. The study area overlaps the two neighborhoods of Jamaica Plain and Roxbury, with the majority of the study area in Jamaica Plain. This initiative creates an opportunity to think strategically about the types of uses, the public realm, and the scale of development that are best suited for the future of the area.

the city’s immigrant communities. Information on New Bostonians is not easy to gather
because most data on immigrants are not categorized as such. This report compiles
available information on New Bostonians from a number of sources. It is not an in depth
study of specific immigrant communities, but provides a general overview of New
Bostonians to enable Boston residents, organizations, city departments, and individuals to
learn more about the New Bostonian community, their contributions and the important
roles they play in the city of Boston.
The information in this report was gathered through various sources. However, most of
the information is derived from to the 2000 Census, unless otherwise stated. The New
Bostonian’s Demographic Report includes some state and national information while
concentrating on findings for the city of Boston. "
