Nighttime Design is an emerging design field that combines research about the ways communities utilize and inhabit public space at night with sustainable solutions for after-dark issues in order to create 24/7 cities.

Leni Schwendinger

  • Leni Schwendinger is a speaker, activist, and designer (formerly with ARUP) who's objective is to expand social interaction and activity in public spaces through a discovery of light. She is a pioneer of the emerging field of nighttime design, and promotes human-centered design methods for nighttime lighting design to create safe, beautiful, and sustainable nighttime spaces.
