This research guide will contain information useful to those enrolled in the course "Museum Talks" at Boston Architectural College.

Museum Talks

HTC XXXX - Museum Talks Danielle Hofmans

Course Description: This course will familiarize students with many aspects of the museum world with an emphasis on art museums and a unique focus on the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) in Boston. The course provides a broad introduction into museum studies, but will be geared towards practicum-based lessons.

Based on five museum visits, talks with museum professionals, theoretical preparatory readings, and exploring museum (visitor) communication strategies, the students will develop and create an exhibition at BAC’s McCormick Gallery that showcases and experiments with the course’s content thereby integrating objects from the BAC’s own design and architectural collection. In addition, students will develop educational tools and information booklets that accompany the exhibition.
