Finding Student Award-Winning Thesis Work: Browsing Winners by Program

This guide will help you find examples of prize-winning or commended student thesis work.

Step 1: Visit BAC Library Catalog

Step 2: Advanced Keyword Search

On the library catalog home page, click Advanced Search.

Enter the name of your program in the first search bar, and enter the keyword "commend" in the second bar. Now your keywords are all set, and you're ready to click Search!

Putting quotation marks around the program name tells the search engine to only bring back items that include the full quoted phrase. This will help you get more precise search results.

Step 3: Reading Your Results

Your search should look something like this. The results will automatically be sorted by relevance; you can use the Sort By dropdown options to sort the list by date or author.

When you've found an item that looks good, click on its title to view the library's record for that document. Some items are only available in print in the library, while others are available as PDFs.

Under "Notes," you can find more information about the commendations received by the item. To view the item, click the link in the Holdings Information box.

You may need to log into DSpace using your BAC credentials before you can view the document, but after that you are free to download and read.
