Tiny houses are residential spaces no larger than 1,000 square feet.
After the Great Recession of 2007-9, many people became interested in more affordable, environmentally friendly housing options. They function as independent living spaces, but are also used as additional on-property housing for guests, relatives or as a home office. Tiny houses are also used for traveling as models on wheels become increasingly popular. They are often compared to RVs, but tiny houses differ because they must abide by state/providential/territorial building codes.
