The Jones Library is the public library for Town of Amherst. The Special Collections department "preserves, promotes, and makes accessible the history of Amherst. With a focus on the history and literary heritage of Amherst and the surrounding Pioneer Valley". The collections include local history resources, manuscripts, photographs, and maps, among other materials, as wells as collections on poets Robert Frost and Emily Dickinson.

Forbes Library is the main public library for the City of Northampton. The Forbes is home to a large image collection, including prints, glass and film negatives, slides, etchings, and stereographs, many of which are available digitally at the link. The library is also home to the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Library and Museum.
