Brutalism

Brutalism was an architectural style popular in the 1960's and 1970's. Brutalist buildings are often characterized by the use of raw concrete (béton brut), the appearance of rough unfinished edges, and the monumentality of architectural volumes. The style has received negative criticism in subsequent decades, but has garnered renewed interested in the last couple of years.
