The Gale Power Search allows users to search topics across multiple databases. To access the Power Search, select “Cross Search” from the homepage menu.

From the Cross Search page, select the “Gale Power Search” link.

On the Gale Power Search page, you will see a search bar and the list of all databases available to search through.

You can select all databases or deselect certain databases by unchecking the check box next to the database to not search through deselected databases.
There are distinctions between One File and Gale in Context databases. All of the “In Context” databases present multiple viewpoints on topics/subjects. These databases usually give a broad explanation and then key terms and a brief list of books, web sites, and encyclopedia entries.
As opposed to One File databases where you’ll be given a list of articles (You can review a list of subjects and use Topic Finder to help narrow down a broad search).

Once you have entered your search keywords the results of your search will appear. You may filter your results with the options on the right-hand side.

For instance, selecting the “Document Type” will bring up a list of options to filter results by. Select the checkboxes of document types you would like to view and then select the apply button.
