PolicyMap: Map Boundaries

Instructional guide on how to use PolicyMap, a Graphic Information System (GIS) data and mapping tool.

Map Boundaries

The Map Boundaries feature allows you to view national boundaries on the map, which are displayed through black outlines. Map Features are also included in this menu, which include various shaded features on the map such as public transit rail lines and various levels of flood risk.

  1. To view a boundary, click on the “Map Boundaries” button at the bottom of the screen to bring up the menu. Keep in mind that certain options will be grayed out depending on your zoom level. If you zoom in almost mid-way up on the zoom bar, you should see 97% of the possible map boundaries.
  2. Check the box next to the National Boundary you would like to show on the map.
  3. Check the boxes next to the Map Features on or off for the features you would like to show on the map.
