PolicyMap: Tables

Instructional guide on how to use PolicyMap, a Graphic Information System (GIS) data and mapping tool.

Using Tables

Tables allow you to compare data across geographic locations through bar graphs. The functionality is limited, custom regions cannot be added to a table.

1. Go to the Tables tab at the top of the screen.

2. Add locations one at a time by address, city, county, state, zip code, or coordinates in the top search bar.

3. Select a data layer from the menu at the top (i.e. Demographics, Incomes & Spending, Health, etc.).

4. In the data layer, adjust settings for features like year and variable.

Note: Once you select each location you would like to add to the table, you can change the data sets without having to re-select locations. The most specific geographic information you can find for some data is by U.S. Census Tract, but some data is only available by county, city, or state. You may also notice that there is no Ranking Data being displayed. You can ignore this feature as it is being revised by PolicyMap developers and will be available in the new version sometime in 2021.
