The Interactive Map allows you to search by an address or latitude, longitude, or by marker on the Google map.
1. Click on the map to set the red marker on the map, or search by entering an address or latitude, longitude to set the marker.
2. Below the map you will see the results, which include historical maps of that area. You can also sort the results by clicking on the column titles in the green bar. For instance, selecting "Year” will put the year in numerical order or selecting “Publisher” will sort the publications grouped together.
3. Select the “Show” button on the map you would like to display. An overlay will appear showing the selected map of that area.
4. Select the publication name link to see all pages from that publication. You will be taken to a viewer displaying that publication and its pages. You will need to then look through the pages of the publication to find the section on the map you need. The Research Tools (which are discussed in-depth under Place Name Search and under Research Tools in this guide) can help to identify the area or building you are looking for amongst the pages you have retrieved in your search.
